Wine Expert Speak: This classic northern Rhone red is a little brooding and dark and not especially fruity, but there are complex aromas of tomato stalk, earth and sweet spice. It tastes soft and juicy yet also a bit stern, there’s steel in that backbone. It can seem austere on its own, but will come into itself with air and with food.
