DETAILS Ginger has a plethora of health benefits. From warding off disease through certain chemicals present in fresh ginger to promoting oral health and hygiene, ginger is a healthy choice. It can also calm nausea and soothe sore muscles, as well as lowering blood sugar, cholesterol and indigestion. With these benefits to the body and the brain, it’s hardly surprising that ginger is hailed a superfood.
STORAGE ADVICE To ensure the optimal freshness and flavor of ginger, it’s best to store it in the refrigerator. First, peel the ginger and then place it in a resealable plastic bag or an airtight container. If you prefer, you can also wrap the ginger in a slightly damp paper towel before storing it in the bag or container. This helps to maintain the moisture content without making the ginger too wet. Stored in this manner, ginger can last for several weeks in the refrigerator. Alternatively, you can freeze ginger for longer-term storage. Simply peel and chop the ginger into small pieces, place them in a freezer bag, and store in the freezer. Frozen ginger can be grated or chopped directly into dishes without thawing, making it a convenient option for preserving this flavorful spice.
PACKAGING  This pack contains 150g of Fresh Ginger.

Your item will arrive in a 100% recycled box lovingly packed with FSC-certified shredded spruce from Britain and Sweden, natural sheep’s wool insulation and non-toxic chilled gel packs, all of which can be reused, composted or recycled. To recycle the gel packs, simply cut a corner and dispose of the contents through your normal domestic waste system, as the gel isn’t harmful to the environment. Better still, reuse them by storing in the freezer and chilling other products. The only component from our packaging that can’t be recycled are the foil liners which need to be go in household waste; the poly bags meat comes in needs to go in plastic recycling.

The beauty of fresh ginger is that it can be used in both sweet and savoury recipes – from a tempting ginger cake to a quick stir fry.

Why not try chopping some pork tenderloin into bite sized pieces, stir fry in a small amount of oil until browned all over.  Add your favourite veg cut into batons and a thumb-sized piece of fresh ginger, cut into very fine strips. Stir fry until the meat is thoroughly cooked and the veg still with a little bite.  Add quick rice or noodles to serve. You will not be disappointed!
