The Black Farmer Beef Topside Joint is a lean, hand-trimmed roasting cut from high-welfare, grass-fed British cattle — perfect for Sunday roasts, midweek meals, or slicing cold for sandwiches. Tied and rolled for even cooking and easy carving, this topside beef joint delivers a bold beef flavour, natural leanness, and satisfying texture.

Best roasted until medium-rare, it carves beautifully into thin, juicy slices. Whether served with Yorkshire pudding and gravy, or enjoyed cold in topside beef sandwiches, this traditional British favourite is a versatile must-have for meat lovers.

Oven Roast (Recommended Method):
Remove from fridge 30–60 minutes before cooking to bring to room temperature.
Preheat oven to 220°C / Fan 200°C / Gas Mark 7.
Pat the joint dry with kitchen paper and rub with oil, salt, pepper, and optional herbs (e.g., rosemary or thyme).
Place in a roasting tray and cook at high heat for 20 minutes to seal.
Reduce oven temperature to 180°C / Fan 160°C / Gas 4 and continue roasting for:
20 minutes per 500g for medium-rare
25 minutes per 500g for medium
30 minutes per 500g for well done
Once cooked, cover loosely with foil and rest for 20–30 minutes before carving. This allows the juices to redistribute, keeping the meat tender.

Keep refrigerated below 5°C. Suitable for freezing. If frozen, defrost fully in the fridge and consume within 24 hours. Do not refreeze after thawing.
