The Black Farmer Beef Short Ribs are a bold and meaty cut, taken from the lower rib and perfect for rich, slow-cooked dishes. Known for their deep flavour, natural marbling, and fall-apart tenderness when braised or smoked, these ribs are a favourite for comfort food, barbecues, and Sunday feasts alike.

Whether slow-braised in red wine, smoked low and slow over coals, or finished on the grill for a sticky glaze, these British beef ribs deliver succulent, satisfying results every time.

Slow-cook for 3–4 hours until fork-tender, then serve with:

Oven braise (recommended):
Preheat oven to 160°C (fan 140°C). Season ribs and sear in a hot pan until browned.
Add onions, garlic, herbs and tomato purée; deglaze with red wine/stock.
Transfer to a lidded casserole, liquid halfway up the ribs. Cover and cook 2½–3½ hours until tender.
Optional: Brush with pan juices and grill 3–5 mins to caramelise.
Safe serve: Cook to a core temp ≥75°C (or until probe slides in with no resistance).

Keep refrigerated below 5°C. Suitable for freezing. Defrost thoroughly before cooking and use within 24 hours. Do not refreeze.
